Fishing

Coarse fishing for barbel, chub and dace is available on the River Wye approximately 1 mile east of Hay on Wye Bridge on the north bank, access will be from Bronydd.

Canoe traffic may be heavy from 10am to 4pm at weekends during warmer months, and especially during bank holidays.

Coarse Fishing Regulations and EAW bye-laws must be observed and it is up to anglers to familiarize themselves with these.

There are 2 rods available at a charge of £10 per day per rod (fishing rods not included).

Pre-booking is essential.

Walking

Black Mountain View is an ideal base for walking. The Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are within easy reach and we have direct access from our site to the Offa’s Dyke Path, for you to enjoy a lovely forty minute walk into Hay. This walk offers amazing mountain and river views.

Canoeing

Black Mountain View is ideally situated for canoeing on the River Wye. You could do the 40 minute walk to Hay on the Offa's Dyke path directly from the site, hire a canoe down to Whitey-on-Wye and asked to be dropped off at Black Mountain View Caravan Park when the minibus takes you back to Hay-on-Wye. Please note, some canoe companies go to Whitney Bridge and others go a little further to The Boat Inn.

More links to local activities will be added as soon as possible, but in the meantime, please feel free to browse the Leisure Activities section of the Hay-on-Wye website.
